Jennifer Lawrence expresses willingness to reprise role as Katniss Everdeen in upcoming film, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds

Jennifer Lawrence, the talented actress who won an Oscar, has recently expressed her openness to returning to her iconic role as Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming prequel of The Hunger Games series, titled The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

In a recent promotional interview for her upcoming film No Hard Feelings, Lawrence enthusiastically shared, “Oh, my God – absolutely! If Katniss ever had the chance to come back into my life, I would be 100 percent on board.” It was through her portrayal of the skilled archer Katniss that Lawrence gained immense popularity and became a household name. The Hunger Games franchise, consisting of four films based on Suzanne Collins’s books, was directed by Gary Ross and later Francis Lawrence, and also starred Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Stanley Tucci, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland, and Woody Harrelson.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes serves as a prequel to the original films and features a stellar cast including Viola Davis, Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman, and Hunter Schafer. The movie explores the story of Coriolanus Snow, played by Donald Sutherland in the previous films, as he rises to power and ultimately becomes the President of Panem. Fans can anticipate its release on November 17.

As for Lawrence’s upcoming film, No Hard Feelings, it’s a comedic movie that pushes boundaries. In the film, Lawrence plays the role of an Uber driver who is hired by a wealthy couple, portrayed by Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti, to date and seduce their 19-year-old son, played by Andrew Barth Feldman. Directed by Gene Stupnitsky, this raunchy comedy is scheduled to hit theaters on June 23.
