New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the 2023 civil services preliminary examination on Monday, revealing that over 14,600 candidates have successfully qualified. This examination is conducted annually in three stages: preliminary, main, and interview. Its purpose is to select officers for prestigious positions like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and the Indian Police Service (IPS).

The preliminary exam for the 2023 civil services was held on May 28. The list of successful candidates, including their serial numbers, roll numbers, and names, has been published on the UPSC’s website, confirming that 14,624 candidates have cleared the preliminary round.

However, it’s important to note that the candidature of these candidates is currently provisional. According to the UPSC, all successful candidates must reapply using the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the civil services (main) examination of 2023, following the rules of the examination. The commission will announce the dates and provide important instructions for filling out the DAF-I and submitting it on their website at a later time.

The UPSC also informed candidates that the marks, cut-off marks, and answer keys for the 2023 civil services preliminary examination will only be uploaded on the commission’s website (https://upsc.gov.in) after the entire process of the civil services examination, including the declaration of the final result, is completed.

For the convenience of candidates, the UPSC has set up a facilitation counter near the examination hall building at Dholpur House on Shahjahan Road in New Delhi.
