What Xbox Game Pass on Nvidia GeForce Now Means for You

Microsoft’s recent Xbox Games Showcase 2023 was packed with exciting announcements, unveiling a range of new products and services. Among these revelations, the company shed light on its plans for the gaming industry, including the upcoming integration of PC Game Pass into Nvidia GeForce Now later this year.

For those unfamiliar, Nvidia GeForce Now is a cloud gaming service that operates on a subscription model, allowing users to play their own games without the need for a gaming console or PC. The service boasts an extensive library of games that can be accessed via the cloud. But what does this mean for users?

Well, with the arrival of PC Game Pass on Nvidia GeForce Now, gamers will have the opportunity to not only purchase their favorite games but also enjoy the perks of subscribing to PC Xbox Game Pass for a nominal fee. This subscription will grant them access to a vast collection of games curated by Microsoft, including early releases and much more.

Microsoft proudly announced that the popularity of Game Pass has skyrocketed, setting new records for monthly active users and devices. In fact, the previous quarter witnessed a remarkable 46% increase in PC Game Pass players compared to the previous year. This surge in popularity translated into nearly $1 billion in revenue from Game Pass subscriptions during the last quarter alone. Microsoft further revealed that its Xbox first-party games now boast over 150 million monthly active users, and the company remains committed to investing in new franchises, taking risks, and delivering the most diverse lineup of games in the industry.

In the Indian market, Jio had previously introduced its JioGames Cloud service and partnered with Nvidia to bring the GeForce Now cloud gaming service to the country. Although JioGames Cloud had a limited game selection, the collaboration with Nvidia aimed to expand the library and cater to Indian users with a wider range of titles. Considering Microsoft’s announcement of PC Xbox Game Pass coming to Nvidia GeForce Now, it is highly likely that the service will also be available in India. It remains to be seen whether Jio will offer a bundled subscription for this service, as no official information has been provided yet. Nvidia has not disclosed much about the collaboration either but has promised to provide updates in the coming months.

Notably, Microsoft has already entered into a 10-year agreement with Nvidia to bring Activision Blizzard games, such as Call of Duty, to the platform, pending regulatory approvals in multiple regions.
